Selena Gomez opened up about her career, friendships, and health in a new interview.
On September 9, Vanity Fair announced Selena Gomez as the cover star for its October issue. In the interview, the billionaire revealed that she was unable to get pregnant for health reasons: “I’ve never said this before. But unfortunately, I can’t get pregnant. I have a lot of health issues that could put my life and the baby’s life at risk. I’ve been heartbroken about this for a long time.”

In 2013, Selena Gomez was diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune disease in which the body produces antibodies that attack the tissues of its organs. Four years later, she underwent a kidney transplant after receiving a kidney transplant from her friend Francia Raisa. Selena also takes medication to control her bipolar disorder.
Still, she feels lucky to live in an era where surrogacy and adoption are both possible. “I feel so lucky to have amazing people willing to be surrogates or adopt. It opens up a huge opportunity for me… I’m also excited about how this journey will turn out. It may turn out differently than I imagined, but I don’t really care. The important thing is that the baby will be mine,” Selena Gomez shared.

In the interview, the Lose You To Love Me singer also expressed her desire to have a complete family with her current boyfriend Benny Blanco – who she has been dating since late 2023. However, the singer said she did not want to rush into marriage because her parents divorced when she was only 5 years old.
Before dating Benny, she was single for 5 years after breaking up with Justin Bieber and The Weeknd. Although many people think that the music producer is not worthy of her in terms of both appearance and fame, Selena emphasized that she has never been loved as much as in her current relationship.

Selena Gomez praised her current boyfriend.
In addition, Selena Gomez also implicitly denied rumors of a rift with her close sister Taylor Swift. Previously, social media spread information that Selena was no longer close to Taylor Swift because she did not feel like she fit in with the star’s new group of friends.
She said that Taylor Swift is her longtime friend, someone she can call anytime: “She’s like a sister to me.” The two mainly “chat” like other close friends, or comment on the famous reality show they love. Sometimes, the two will chat with each other about the entertainment industry. The Cruel Summer singer will give Selena advice on music or how to find new friendships at their respective levels of fame.
