Lewandowski leaves Mbappe in the dust to soar to top of La Liga golden boot race
Robert Lewandowski is on fire for Barcelona in their clash against Villarreal and has given his side a 2-1 lead in the first half.
The Polish forward produced a stellar finish from close range by anticipating Pablo Torre’s pass and opening the scoring in the 20th minute.
Lewandowski then made it 2-0 with a cheeky overhead kick finish from close range in the 35th minute to help his side take a resounding lead.
Even though Villarreal have scored one from Ayoze Perez, Lewandowski’s brace has taken his goal tall to six goals in the 2024/25 La Liga.
He’s now sitting atop of the top-scorers race and has two more goals than Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe.
