16-year-old goalkeeper trains with Barcelona squad before Osasuna clash

Hansi Flick is really not scared by the prospect of calling up many La Masia products into his Barcelona team, irrespective of the position.

As per Victor Navarro, the gaffer called up 16-year-old Barca Juvenil B goalkeeper Iker Rodriguez to first-team training after the win over Getafe.

Rodriguez has made two appearances for Spain’s under-17 team. He mostly plays for the Blaugrana’s under-18 team, but has now been called up to train with the senior members.

This is mostly because the Blaugrana are currenty lacking in goalkeeper options after Marc-Andre ter Stegen unfortunate injury.

Barca are likely to complete the signing of Wojciech Szczesny soon, but need to make do with youth options to make up enough goalkeeper numbers for training.

Rodriguez is unlikely to get his senior debut anytime soon, but the experience gained from training with senior player scan give him a huge boost.
