A Touching Farewell From the Prince of Darkness
In one of the most emotional revelations since the passing of Ozzy Osbourne, his wife Sharon Osbourne has shared the heartfelt comments the legendary rocker made about his fans just weeks before his death. Speaking in an interview with Pollstar on August 5 — recorded on July 17 — Sharon recalled the words Ozzy spoke after his final concert in Birmingham, England.
The performance, held on July 5, 2025, was part of Black Sabbath’s “Back to the Beginning” farewell show, marking the end of an era for both the band and its frontman. For fans, it was a historic night. For Ozzy, it was his last time standing before the crowds that had supported him for decades.

“I Had No Idea That So Many People Liked Me”
According to Sharon, after the show, Ozzy turned to her and expressed his surprise at the outpouring of love:
“I had no idea that so many people liked me.”
It was a striking moment for a man who had spent decades in the spotlight but, as Sharon explained, often lived in his own world.
“Ozzy’s always been in his own bubble,” she reflected.
For Sharon, the reaction of the audience was no surprise at all. She has always known how fiercely loyal heavy metal fans are.
“Oh my God, the metal fans are the most loyal fans in the world! When they’re a fan, you’ve got them for life. They don’t go anywhere.”
A Special Night for the Whole Family
Ozzy’s daughter Kelly Osbourne also shared how deeply meaningful the final performance was to her father. In an Instagram Story posted after the concert, she thanked fans and everyone involved in making the night unforgettable:
“You have no idea what it did for my dad. It was one of the most magical experiences of my entire life… Thank you.”
For the Osbourne family, this wasn’t just another gig — it was a night of closure, love, and gratitude.
The Final Days
Just over two weeks after that last performance, on July 22, 2025, Ozzy Osbourne passed away at the age of 76. His death certificate listed cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease, and Parkinson’s disease as causes.
In a statement, the Osbourne family wrote:

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time.”
A Legacy That Spanned Generations
Ozzy and Sharon had been married since 1982 and shared three children:
Aimee, 41
Kelly, 40
Jack, 39
Ozzy also had two children, Jessica and Louis, from his first marriage to Thelma Riley.
Throughout his decades-long career, Ozzy became one of the most influential figures in heavy metal, first as the frontman of Black Sabbath and later as a solo artist. His music, larger-than-life persona, and unapologetic authenticity earned him millions of devoted fans worldwide.
Laid to Rest in England
Nearly a week after his passing, a private memorial service was held at the Osbourne family estate in England. Sharon, their children, and close friends gathered to honor the life of a man who left an indelible mark on music history.
While Ozzy’s physical presence may be gone, his words — and the love he expressed for his fans — remain a powerful reminder of the bond between artist and audience.
Remembering Ozzy’s Last Words
Ozzy Osbourne’s final reflection — “I had no idea that so many people liked me” — reveals the humility that lay beneath his rock star image. To the millions who loved him, the sentiment was mutual. They didn’t just like Ozzy; they cherished him.
Rest in peace, Ozzy Osbourne (1948–2025). Your music, your spirit, and your connection to your fans will live forever.
