Paramore singer Hayley Williams joined the No Music For Genocide movement – a cultural boycott of the state of Israel restricting artists’ music from being streamed in the country.
Hayley Williams has joined the No Music For Genocide movement. The initiative launched last week, calling for artists to boycott the state of Israel and its military actions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Several artists, including Massive Attack, Fontaines D.C., Amyl and The Sniffers, and more, have joined the movement by removing their music from Israel via geo-blocking.

While Williams has yet to make a statement, both the singer and Paramore were recently added to No Music For Genocide’s website, confirming that their solo material and work with Paramore are no longer available to stream in Israel. The band would also release a statement in May 2024, encouraging fans to support Save The Children, a charity group providing humanitarian aid in Gaza. They would also team up with fashion designer Bug Girl for a merchandise line that benefited Medical Aid for Palestinians.
The No Music For Genocide movement launched last week, and saw over 400 musicians quickly sign up for the effort. Massive Attack announced their participation early last week, sharing a statement via social media that read: “In support of the No Music For Genocide initiative, Massive Attack have made a formal request to our record label (Universal Music Group) that our music be removed from all DSP streaming services in the territory of Israel.”
Williams released her third solo album, Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party, last month, following her 2021 album Flowers for Vases / Descansos. She would then return to write and release Paramore‘s 2023 album This Is Why. The singer has also made surprise appearances with Turnstile, the Linda Lindas and New York hardcore veterans H20.
