The world was “shaken” by Celine Dion’s return to the Paris Olympics, her journey to overcome a serious illness to shine brightly!
The Paris Olympics opening ceremony ended at around 4:30 a.m. on July 27 (Vietnam time), bringing about many mixed opinions. The heavy rain that lasted for a long time, combined with many subjective and objective factors, caused many negative reviews of the Paris Olympics 2024 opening ceremony. Many people did not hesitate to call this the most boring opening ceremony in the history of the Olympics.
However, regardless of the praise or criticism of the overall program, no one can deny that Celine Dion was the brightest highlight of a controversial opening ceremony, demonstrating the class of a world-famous diva.
Celine Dion performs L’hymne À L’amour at the Paris 2024 Olympic Opening Ceremony
After the Paris 2024 Olympic torch was lit, Celine Dion appeared as gorgeous as a goddess right in the middle of the Eiffel Tower – the symbol of Paris. The Canadian diva sang L’hymne À L’amour, the classic love song once associated with French music legend Édith Piaf. This is also a worthy comeback stage for Celine Dion after many years of fighting a serious illness.
After many events, Celine Dion’s voice still gives the audience “goosebumps” when she sings. Full of lyricism, full of emotion and also full of luxury, that is the Celine Dion that the whole world has always admired. Her voice seems to echo throughout Paris, warming millions of hearts and lighting up many hopes. The heavy rain surrounded Celine Dion while the Eiffel Tower shined brightly with her, making the image even more impressive.
Celine Dion has created a legend at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
And indeed, until Celine Dion finished her performance, we could understand why the Organizing Committee was determined to invite the diva to perform because of this excellent performance! Celine Dion’s stage, after being posted on the French television station’s YouTube channel, quickly received more than 4.2 million views in less than 24 hours of posting. Celine Dion was overwhelmed by the public’s compliments, calling this a magical and impressive stage as well as a voice from heaven. Celine Dion’s performance moved many audiences to tears not only because of the overall stage but also because of the journey that Celine Dion had to go through!
– She doesn’t need to sing another song, this is her legacy!
– The first Olympic gold medal was awarded to Celine Dion
– Saving the entire ceremony, classy!
– A hopeful figure, inspiring even those who thought they had lost everything!
Celine Dion was emaciated during her illness.
To get to where she is today, Celine Dion has indeed gone through a long period of fighting a serious illness, seemingly having to leave the stage forever. In December 2022, Celine Dion announced that she was diagnosed with “Stiff Person Syndrome”. To fight the disease, she persistently practiced five days a week but her body still did not improve much.
Celine Dion once shared about the onset of stiff person syndrome in an interview. “The spasms tend to start in my throat, but they can also occur in my abdomen, spine and ribs. I love to cook and when I try to hold my hands in a certain position while cooking, I not only get cramps but also have severe pain that sometimes even breaks my ribs.”
She also said it was difficult for her to sing fluently: “When I want to sing, I feel like someone is choking my throat. I can’t sing high or low, it just makes me cramp.” The illness forced the singer to cancel her European tour scheduled to begin in February 2023 as well as all her musical projects. “All I know is singing. It’s what I’ve done all my life and it’s what I love to do the most,” Celine said in a video posted on her Instagram account when she announced her diagnosis related to the disease.
Celine Dion shined both figuratively and literally at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
And today, with a beautiful stage at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Celine Dion returned in the most extraordinary and impressive way. Without the need for elaborate dancing, she used the Eiffel Tower as a stage, took the Olympics as a place to return, and proved an extraordinary willpower in a talented artist!
