No one had “Snoop Dogg becomes the darling of the Summer Olympics” on their 2024 bingo card. And yet, that’s exactly what happened. The legendary rapper became an international symbol of wholesomeness when he carried the Olympic torch ahead of the opening ceremony.

So it was only fitting for Snoop to close out the Paris Games with an epic performance. And if that wasn’t enough, Snoop did it in grand fashion, welcoming a surprise performance of “The Next Episode” with Dr. Dre.

Snoop Dogg Performs at Closing Ceremony

Snoop Dogg took the stage in his hometown of Long Beach as another year of unforgettable displays of athleticism and sportsmanship came to a close. The West Coast legend was in full Olympic regalia as he performed his 2004 hit “Drop It Like It’s Hot.”

Now, Paris officially “passes the torch” to Los Angeles, the host of the 2028 Summer Olympics. The “Gin and Juice” rapper (born Calvin Broadus Jr.) was a fitting ambassador, as he hails from nearby Long Beach, California.

Snoop’s face will likely pop up for years to come whenever the 2024 Paris Games come to mind. The world delighted as he joined unlikely BFF Martha Stewart in matching equestrian gear for the equestrian team dressage event.

“That’s a hell of a crip walk,” remarked the hip-hop star, 52, after a particularly impressive equine move.

“Between @SnoopDogg, @elmo, and @FlavorFlav, had there ever been a more fun and joyous #Olympics to watch?” one viewer wrote on X/Twitter. “I feel like they’re all my friends now. The best part is how much respect they’ve had for the female athletes. Thank you for bringing us all so much happiness. #followthedogg“

Another X/Twitter user added, “Snoop Dogg is another example of not knowing what destined for you. 30 years ago I wonder if he would have thought he’d an US Ambassador for the Olympics.”
