Eminem‘s relationship with his daughter has always been a recurring theme in his music. He exposed his vulnerable feelings in his songs like Hailie’s Song and Mockingbird. However, his love and role as a father are not limited to his lyrics alone.

During an interview with Rolling Stone in 2004, Eminem revealed “living a double life.” He described how he is this rough and tough rapper in front of the world but becomes a caring father as soon as he sets foot at his home.

Takin’ the kids to school, pickin’ ’em up, teachin’ ’em rules. I’m not sayin’ I’m the perfect father, but the most important thing is to be there for my kids and raise them the right way.

Besides that, there is an old video that was also used in the Mockingbird video that shows Eminem’s softer, fatherly side. It shows how a young Hailie Jade was showing her antics as a kid, and Eminem was handling it with patience.

In the video, Eminem is seen talking to his daughter, who seemingly just woke up then. After asking her if she had woken up and called her for some time, the rapper realized Jade had already cut the call. Eminem then says,

“She always does that to me. She hit the receiver and hang up on that.”

Eminem’s journey with Hailie was not always smooth. Problems associated with him and his ex-wife, Kimberly Anne Scott, and his problems with addiction could have ruined his relationship with his daughter. But the rap legend has always mentioned that Jade has been his driving force towards sobriety.

Eminem is once again on everyone’s top playlist with his new album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce). But the album is not only special for its music. Eminem recently dropped the music video for his song Temporary, which revealed that Jade is pregnant with her first child.

The video features Eminem’s interactions with his daughter and her footage from childhood. At the end of it, Jade gifts Eminem a blue football jersey with “Grandpa” written on the back and shows him a sonogram revealing her pregnancy.

The video showed the rapper’s emotional side. Jade herself admitted on her podcast that she cried listening to and watching her father’s new album. She also thanked her parents for her childhood, saying,

I feel like my parents did such a good job growing up. Where I didn’t realize how bad things were, but now, as an adult in hindsight, it’s so scary to think about.

Jade further announced her pregnancy on Instagram, posting photos with her husband Evan McClintock. The caption read, “Mom & dad est. 2025,” confirming that the rap legend is going to be grandfather next year.
