Elon Musk unveils Tesla Preps robotaxi API with new features

“On August 8th, Tesla is going to explode with the groundbreaking launch of Robotaxi! With a host of new API features like passenger ratings and guest mode, the upcoming ride-sharing service promises to be a game-changer – are you ready to witness the future of transportation?”

Tesla’s robotaxi will debut on August 8 with new ride-sharing features and better passenger monitoring

According to a recent report from Teslarati, the unveiling of Tesla’s Robotaxi is scheduled for August 8, and there is still a lot of anticipation regarding the automaker’s next announcement. We do know that it will be built on Tesla’s next-generation platform, which will facilitate more efficient manufacturing in anticipation of increased production and delivery volumes.

However, Tesla is currently finishing up development of a ride-sharing service that is expected to be comparable to Uber or Lyft. This service will include features such as passenger ratings and a guest mode, which will restrict the availability of certain features to people who are simply borrowing the vehicle.

Tesla will introduce a “Rider Quality Score” that will allow users to observe how they interact with the vehicle as passengers. Years ago, Uber and Lyft instituted this to allow drivers to reject passengers based on their past behavior.

Your score will be lowered if you are obnoxious, disruptive, or cause damage to property inside the vehicle. This will ensure that passengers are respectful and may prevent theft or vandalism within the vehicle.

The entire Mars catalog initially noticed this and shared a screenshot of the API coding. Logically, Tesla could use this to regulate the actions of certain passengers. We all know there are people you probably wouldn’t want in your Robotaxi.

Tesla will also integrate a guest mode comparable to Valet mode, according to Not a Tesla App. This will hinder the availability of specific features.

Valet mode allows for several restrictions, including glove box restrictions and speed restrictions. It will be interesting to see what additional restrictions Tesla intends to implement in relation to the Robotaxi implementation.

Recently, Reuters reported that Tesla had canceled plans to mass produce its low-cost car, causing TSLA stock to plummet. The publication claimed that Tesla was still developing its autonomous robotaxis, leading many to believe that the company would wait to release a $25,000 car designed to drive itself. Musk quickly refuted the publication’s claims.

In the past, Tesla has promised that the low-cost vehicle would have a single design. However, it would serve two distinct purposes, with only minor (or significant) variation on the interior. The initial design is a $25,000 vehicle aimed at the mass market that consumers can purchase and drive independently.

The Tesla car, priced at $25,000, is an ideal choice for the changing electric vehicle market. Numerous reports indicate that demand for electric vehicles is declining due to the high cost and complexity of the technology. The $25,000 Tesla car is expected to ease customer concerns.

The second design may not include a steering wheel, as it is intended to be fully autonomous. Tesla has made significant progress in developing full autonomous driving with version 12. More than ever, the company is considering introducing vehicles that do not need a steering wheel.

However, Elon Musk has also stated that Tesla’s fleet of robotaxis will be adaptable, regardless of their design. He has talked about the possibility of Tesla owners being able to add their vehicles to the fleet while they are at work or when the car is not in use. This would require even vehicles with steering wheels to be classified as robotaxis.

Tesla’s unveiling of its Robotaxi in August will offer a glimpse into the company’s future and likely allay any lingering concerns about its $25,000 electric vehicle.
