And P. Diddy continued to prove that he marches to the beat of his own drum as he decided to have a little lie down at Monday’s Met Gala in New York.

Lounging on the steps as his girlfriend Cassie posed for pictures, the 47-year-old rapper – real name Sean Combs – sent Twitter into a frenzy as fans struggled to believe that he took a seat during the biggest event in the fashion calendar.

The theme of this year’s Met Gala was Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons, with the focus being on the avant-garde designer’s technique with silhouettes, draping and fit.

For the event, Diddy donned a navy striped suit with a matching cape that trailed behind him in a dramatic fashion as he walked the white carpet.

He explained to his fans: ‘My outfit pays homage to #CommeDesGarcons as far as the fearlessness and getting out of the box!! That’s what we represent!! #METGALA.’

Meanwhile, Cassie, 30, looked sensational in a plunging satin gown with a feather-tipped fishtail gown.
