Thanks to a recent viral poster circulating online, netizens believe that a reboot of the 1989 HBO series Tales from the Crypt will be arriving soon. It was a horror anthology series created by William Gaines and Steven Dodd, based on the eponymous 1950s EC Comics. The show ran for 7 seasons and was a massive television success. Nostalgic fans thus became excited when a rumor of the show’s 2024 reboot gained traction online. But is there any truth to the matter?

Here is everything we know about the seemingly new Tales from the Crypt poster and if the beloved 90s series will return to the screen.
Is the Tales from the Crypt series reboot poster real or fake?
The Tales from the Crypt series reboot poster circulating online is completely fake.
Some eagle-eyed fans have spotted that the new poster does not contain any verifiable information and is too vague for it to be an official poster release. Hence, we can safely say that a reboot of Tales from the Crypt will not be arriving this year.

Many revival attempts had been made in the past by the producers of the original series as well as popular director M. Night Shyamalan. However, none had succeeded. Additionally, due to copyright issues, an official renewal of the show might be tricky to make.
The rumor began circulating online thanks to a recent Facebook post that claimed that the series will return on October 25, 2024. The description reads, “Get ready for spine-chilling terror with Tales From The Crypt, streaming on MAX from October 25th, 2024.”
“The Crypt Keeper returns with 10 bone-chilling episodes, each one delivering a new horrifying tale that will haunt your nightmares. Brace yourself for dark twists and gory surprises as this series creeps back from the grave to take you on a terrifying journey into the macabre.” However, no official report has validated this claim.
Additionally, there has been no announcement from HBO or the showrunners regarding this supposed reboot. Neither has there been any attempt at marketing the series in recent months. This goes on to show that the viral poster is entirely fanmade, and we won’t be getting a Tales from the Crypt revival series anytime soon.
