Chrissy Teigen explained why her and husband John Legend’s son Wren, the youngest of their four kids, is wearing an orthopedic walker boot after sharing pics of him sporting the medical device.
Chrissy Teigen is speaking out amid concerns about her and John Legend‘s youngest son.
After sharing images of Wren, 22 months, wearing an orthopedic walker boot on his right foot, the Cravings cookbook author shared the simple explanation behind his temporary footwear.
“Wren is a-ok,” Chrissy wrote on her Instagram May 2. “Just a little boot because he is having trouble putting all his weight on this leg! Not a terrible break thank the lord! They heal so fast right now.”
Chrissy—also mom to Luna, 9, and Miles, 6, and Esti, 2, with John—included in her post videos of Wren wearing the boot while talking to what appears to be a talking cactus toy and while sitting the front passenger side of a real fire truck near Esti. In another clip, Wren is seen running barefoot, without the device, outside by to the 2-year-old.
The Grammy winner and supermodel have often offered glimpses into their family life with their kids on social media, including health challenges they’ve faced. In July 2024, Chrissy shared Miles has been diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes, which was discovered followed a hospitalization for another ailment.
“A couple weeks ago, our Miles was sick in the hospital with a terrible case of shigella, an intestinal infection caused by bacteria in food or water,” Chrissy wrote in a July 31 Instagram post. “The doctors knew something else was off about his blood tests.”
She continued, “After more testing, we learned he is in the ‘honeymoon period’ of a lifetime of T1. Last night we gave him his first shot of insulin and here we go! A different, new world for us and we are certainly learning so much on the fly.”

Chrissy noted that many fans had noticed in a photo of her kids that she had recently shared that Miles was wearing a glucose monitor and “extended so much love and encouragement” to her.
“This post is to thank you so much for your kindness,” she added. “It helps Miles so much to know so many other people are going through the same thing and he is not alone.”
