UB40’s Robin Campbell accuses former bandmate Ali of ‘STEALING’
THE FAMILY feud that split reggae band UB40 in two shows no signs of abating with Robin Campbell lashing out at his former bandmate and estranged brother Ali by accusing him of theft.

Astro, Ali Campbell and Mickey Virtue of UB40
Last week Day & Night reported that Ali had branded Robin and his younger brother Duncan “embarrassing” for continuing to sing his songs, despite leaving the band more than a decade ago.
Now Robin, 61, who, like Ali, 59, continues to perform as UB40, insists his brother has no business continuing to use the band’s name.
“Ali resigned. He didn’t start the band.
“We were a democratic band that he chose to leave, thereby leaving the remaining members to carry on as UB40 and that is what we did.
“He never owned the name and we never split up. We carried on performing and recording as UB40 and for Ali, five years later, to decide that he can use our name is ludicrous.”
The Can’t Help Falling In Love singer Ali has since teamed up with fellow former bandmates Mickey Virtue and Astro and their new album A Real Labour Of Love hit the shops yesterday.
Surely they could just make up over a glass of Red Red Wine?
