Sydney Sweeney continues to face criticism for her role in the recent contentious American Eagle jeans advertisement, where she declared she had “great jeans.”
Many viewers took offense to the “great jeans” comment that followed her discussion of her genetic heritage, which includes white European ancestry, interpreting it as promoting eugenics. The commercial featured Sydney highlighting her blue eyes before announcing she possessed “great jeans.” Ever since Sydney’s American Eagle advertisement debuted, she has faced relentless criticism and created significant controversy.
Shoppers are either condemning the Euphoria actress for spreading white supremacist messaging or supporting the advertisement, rejecting claims that the commercial is as sinister as critics suggest

Following continuous attacks on the performer, internet users are now targeting her beloved pet. Sydney frequently shares pictures of her red-and-black German Shepherd rescue dog, named Sully Bear, on Instagram.
The Anyone But You actress introduced her canine companion on social media last April. Her dog Sully Bear has also appeared alongside Sydney at the Met Gala afterparty and was featured in The Sunday Times’ Style magazine, according to the Daily Mail.
“That is a Nazi pet,” one person fumed online. A second critic wrote, ‘Swastika Sweeney,” while a third complained, “Hyper white person pet for sure.”
German Shepherds have a historical association with the Nazi regime, as they were often used by the militarized authority during World War II. Even Adolf Hitler, the infamous dictator of Germany, owned a few. Despite some online backlash, many people supported Sydney’s choice of pet.
“Your dog has great jeans as well,” one social media user humorously commented, adding a laughing emoji. A second supporter advised, “Don’t listen to the haters. People are jealous, so they do what they do best hate. It will pass be true to yourself God bless.”
