Lead actor David Corenswet and director James Gunn had some interesting conversations on the red carpet at the film’s premiere in London.

The new Superman – David Corenswet – revealed to Variety that he had proactively contacted two people who had played the iconic role, Henry Cavill (Man of Steel) and Tyler Hoechlin (Superman & Lois) for advice before transforming into this character.
However, both of his predecessors refused to give specific advice. “They both, in their way, said: ‘I’m not going to give you any tips.’ And I think that’s a very ‘Superman’ thing. He’s not the type of person to give advice or impose what other people should do,” – David Corenswet recalled.
Instead, both Henry Cavill and Tyler Hoechlin encouraged him to enjoy the role – true to the positive and calm spirit of the character.
Superman is a film that reflects American politics
Also at this event, director and head of DC Studios James Gunn shared more about the theme that Superman wants to convey with The Times of London.
According to him, the film is not simply a story about a superhero, but also an American story.

“Superman is an immigrant from somewhere else, just like America was formed by people from all over looking for a better life.
He also doesn’t hesitate to affirm that the film has political elements, even though that may be controversial: “There will be unkind people who will be offended just because it’s about kindness. But let them be.
Yes, the film will be about politics. But on another level, it’s about morality. Superman believes that no one should kill under any circumstances, while Lois thinks that sometimes there needs to be a balance. It is the difference in basic moral views that can cause two lovers to fall apart,” James Gunn emphasized.
In addition to David Corenswet, the film also brings together an impressive cast such as Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor), María Gabriela de Faría (The Engineer), Nathan Fillion (Green Lantern), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen) and Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl).
This is the work that kicks off the new DC universe built by James Gunn called Gods and Monsters, scheduled to be released in Vietnam from July 11.
