Since officially coming out as non-binary in 2019, Sam Smith’s style over recent years distinctly reflects the shift in the way they show themselves at the peak of their confidence. Going from subtly bold details and pops of colour to audacious and provocative looks that bend traditional concepts of gender, Sam Smith has shown that they have come to fully embrace and embody the person they are.

As Smith previously said in an interview with actress-podcaster Jameela Jamil, “I’m not male or female, I think I flow somewhere in between. It’s all on the spectrum.” The style chameleon certainly knows how to dress from one end of the spectrum to the other—you can still see them in a comfy masculine outfit on a casual day, but they do not shy away from dramatic shapes and feminine silhouettes to sexy and risqué concert outfits for their performances either.
