The Nominees For The 58th CMA Awards Were Revealed On Monday, September 9.

This year, Morgan Wallen leads with the most nominations, earning seven. Close behind, Chris Stapleton and Cody Johnson have five nods each.

Country music favorites have secured their spots as nominees this year, including newcomers like Post Malone, who earned four nominations in his debut year. However, this year’s nominations also brought some notable snubs, leaving a few big names out of the running.

For The First Time in 17 Years, Miranda Lambert Was Not Nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year

Miranda Lambert has held her spot as a nominee for 17 consecutive years, so fans were surprised to see her absent from this year’s list. Lambert holds the record for the most Female Vocalist of the Year wins, with seven under her belt.

The Female Vocalist of the Year nominees at this year’s CMA Awards are Kelsea Ballerini, Ashley McBryde, Megan Moroney, Kacey Musgraves, and Lainey Wilson.

Miranda Lambert did not receive any nominations in any category this year. The timing of the voting process likely played a role, as Lambert hasn’t released a new album this year with her new record label, Big Loud. Her upcoming album, Postcards From Texas, set to be released on September 13, falls outside the eligibility window for this year’s CMA Awards.

In addition to Miranda Lambert’s surprising snub, Carrie Underwood also experienced a break in her long-running streak of nominations. For the first time since 2018, Underwood has not been nominated for CMA Entertainer of the Year.

Although neither Lambert nor Underwood are seeing their names in any category this year, there’s a good chance these country superstars could be back in the running next year.

The CMA Awards will take place at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on November 20 and will air live on ABC at 8/7c. The award show will be available to stream on Hulu the next day.
