Liverpool get the ball rolling! Reds lodge bid of more than €100m for Florian Wirtz with transfer for Bayer Leverkusen sensation ‘a matter of time’
Per journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Reds have submitted their first formal bid worth €100 million (£83m/$104m) for Wirtz as they look to complete the transfer. Negotiations have started between the two clubs as Leverkusen will try to increase the transfer amount and decide the structure of the payment.

The report adds that it is only a matter of time before the deal becomes official, as both parties know that Wirtz is keen on joining the Premier League champions. The midfielder is now waiting for his club’s green signal before he travels to Merseyside to complete his medical before formally signing for the English side.

Along with Wirtz, the Reds are also working on deals to sign Jeremie Frimpong from Leverkusen and Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth as Arne Slot looks to further strengthen their squad ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
