WNBA Fans React To Angel Reese, NBA 2K Announcement originally appeared on The Spun.
We may only be a few weeks removed from the end of the NBA season but it’s never too early for some 2K news.
On Wednesday, the AAA game publisher revealed the three covers for next year’s editions of the game. With the Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on the standard cover, Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony on the legends cover and Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese gracing the WNBA cover.
“🗣️ She’s got next,” 2K posted to X. “Angel Reese is your #NBA2K26 WNBA Edition Cover Athlete!”
“Keep that all star captain. We getting 2K covers over here,” a user said.

“COVERGIRL. THANK YOU @nba2k 🥹❤️” Reese replied. “Of course we do everything BIG. Why not debut my signature shoe on the cover of NBA2K ?!?!🙂↔️”
“Not everyone can be on the cover of @voguemagazine, @SInow and @NBA2K,” a fan pointed out. “@Reese10Angel is different.”
“She’s really taking over right now,” another person commented.
“Toughhhhh 🌹,” another user posted.
“The crowd that calls everybody sensitive about to be so mad 😂😂😂”
“hating hoes gotta buy their man 2k with her face on the cover,” another fan shared. “#Mebounds.”

Reese is well on her way to averaging her second straight double-double season after coming second in Rookie of the Year voting in 2024.
Her 12.9 rebounds per game are more than four boards better than the league’s second-leading rebounder— three-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson— who graced the cover of NBA 2K25 last year.
