Jon Bon Jovi is celebrating a major career milestone.
The legendary rock musician was named MusiCares Person of the Year for his outstanding achievements in the music industry and philanthropic efforts on Friday night.
“Obviously, I’m humbled to be here and most proud that we’re here 40 years later… and we’re about to release our 18th album,” he shared. “We’re so excited about it. The documentary, everything to celebrate the 40th anniversary.”

Bon Jovi went on to say what he was most looking forward to at the high-profile music event held at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
“To see all these amazing artists playing our songs tonight. My idols and my idols’ idols sitting at my table. I mean, it’s indescribable.”
At the MusiCares event, the music icon performed “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” with his close friend and fellow New Jersey native Bruce Springsteen.

Springsteen’s appearance comes days after the death of his mother Adele. The cause of Adele’s death has not been revealed, although Springsteen spoke out about her battle with Alzheimer’s disease in July 2021 during his live performance of “Springsteen on Broadway.”
Other performers included former Van Halen lead singer Sammy Hagar, who performed “You Give Love a Bad Name.” Wolfgang Van Halen also performed “Have a Nice Day” in honor of Bon Jovi.

Before the MusiCares event, Bon Jovi’s bandmates told Fox News Digital how much it meant to them that their frontman had received the lifetime honor.
“The fact that this family has been around for 40 years and John is our brother… that’s the catalyst that’s kept us here, that’s kept us together for 40 years, which is not an easy thing to do,” his bandmates said.

“I think this is someone who wrote a really great classic ballad,” Twain told Fox News Digital. “It’s a song that could be a hit and a classic in any genre…. It’s exciting that I, as a very different artist than him, am singing this song.”
“I hope I make him proud. I hope he appreciates my performance on the song… He’s an incredibly hard worker. He has a strong work ethic. Everything I’ve ever heard about him from other people is that he’s very dedicated to what he does.”
To close out the night, Bon Jovi performed his classic hit “Livin’ On a Pray” as it became the star-studded finale. He was joined on stage by other performers for a song.
“Tonight and every night, I know how lucky I am,” Bon Jovi said.
