Jon Bon Jovi Believes His Vocal Cord Repair After Surgery Was ‘Up to God’

In an interview with Fox News Digital ahead of the release of the docuseries “Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story,” the rock band’s frontman bluntly explained that recovering from vocal cord surgery “sucks.”

“It sucks,” Bon Jovi said. “But if I compare it to athletes, and Kobe and his Achilles, or Michael Strahan and his pecs, Tom Brady with his knee injury, Tiger Woods getting ready for another Masters. It doesn’t get any easier for any of those guys.”

He continued, “And I know their work ethic and mine are very similar. Nobody expected an injury like that. And whether or not it’s fixed is up to God, but I’m definitely right there with God to fix it.”

Bon Jovi, whose full name is John Francis Bongiovi Jr., paused his live singing career in 2022 and underwent throat surgery after suffering vocal cord atrophy.
