Jon Bon Jovi has told Planet Rock that Bon Jovi will hit the road again “very soon.”
The eponymous Bon Jovi frontman has been battling voice issues for several years, and he revealed in February that he was recovering from surgery for an atrophied vocal cord.
At the time, Jon told the audience at the Pollstar Live! conference that although his healing is going well, he won’t tour with Bon Jovi unless he sounds“great.”
Celebrating the release of the critically-lauded documentary Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story on Disney+ last week, Jon Bon Jovi, Tico Torres and David Bryan visited Planet Rock HQ for a wide-ranging chat with self-professed Bon Jovi superfan Mark Jeeves.
During the interview, Jon told Jeeves that his voice has improved significantly since the documentary was made.

“Yeah, what you see in the show was shot a year and two years ago,” the 61-year-old rock icon said.
“It’s been a slog. Nothing that I would ever wish on my worst enemy. The recovery is proceeding, it’s progressing, it’s getting there, and it’s sort of out of your control at this point.”
He later told Jeeves: “Physical things like this setback, nobody anticipated. And it wasn’t for any good reason. It’s just time and usage that got me to that place unfortunately. The good news is we’re coming through it.”
Wrapping up the chat, Jeeves told Jon, Tico and David: “Fingers crossed we might see you guys play live again?”
Answering in the affirmative, Jon said: “Oh, I’m not worried about it. It’s gonna happen. Not tonight but very soon. For me to be in this clear a voice at 9am in the morning after eight hours of talking yesterday, it’s there. It’s just a matter of time now.”
