From one swordsman to another… here’s what we know.

The Witcher star Henry Cavill has teased his role in the upcoming Highlander reboot.

Last October, it was reported that Lionsgate was moving forward with a long-gestating Highlander reboot with John Wick’s director Chad Stahelski at the helm.

Recently, the star of Man of Steel opened up about the much-anticipated reboot and called the movie a ‘serious ride.’

In a conversation with ComicBook.com, Cavill shared his enthusiasm for the Highlander remake.

While he did not divulge the details of the project, he did reveal that he’s actively preparing for the movie and getting in shape to play the role of MacLeod as we speak.

Henry Cavill said “I’m not going to answer that just yet. There’s a lot of work to be done yet on my part. It’s going to be a serious ride, I’ll tell you that much.”

Henry Cavill’s Highlander movie is a remake of the classic 1986 film of the same name, which featured Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery, and Clancy Brown as immortal warriors on a quest to defeat each other and gain more power.

Despite being a financial failure at the box office, the movie achieved cult classic status upon its home release.

Henry Cavill is set to play a 16th-century immortal warrior, Connor MacLeod, born in Glenfinnan, Scotland, near the shores of Loch Shiel.

In the original film, the Scottish Highlander goes by the alias Russell Nash and lives and works as an antique dealer in New York in 1985.

The film is penned by Ryan J. Condal, Michael Finch, and Kerry Williamson.

There is no information available on the plot and cast of the reboot yet. Henry Cavill is the only confirmed actor attached to the project.

Besides Highlander, Henry Cavill will next be seen in the spy action film Argylle, directed by Matthew Vaughn. The film is set to hit theatres on February 2, 2024.

Henry Cavill’s ‘Highlander’ movie does not have a release date yet.
