The beloved 1996 movie, which stars Adam Sandler, will see the Hollywood A-lister reprise his role as the titular character, confirmed by Netflix.
And joining him on the cast may be ex-golfer Spiranac, who could not resist hinting at a possible role on social media.
She posted a picture of herself on X holding two mugs of beer with the caption: “Time to go to your happy place.”
It is a reference to one scene in the original scene where the late Carl Weathers’ character Chubbs Peterson gives advice to Happy Gilmore to go to his ‘happy place’ while teaching him to putt.

This is not the first time Spiranac has hinted at a possible role, posting the same snap a month ago in response to rumours of a new film coming out.
And fans are desperate to see the 31-year-old take up a role, who has over four million followers on Instagram.
One fan responded by saying: “Please tell us you will be in the movie, please Mr @AdamSandler.”

And this fan said: “Never easy to best an original! But…I think you nailed it!”
While another put: “If you don’t get this part the world is evil.”
As well as Sandler reprising his role, Christopher McDonald is also returning as the antagonist Shooter McGavin.
McDonald said last month: “I saw Adam about two weeks ago, and he says, ‘McDonald, you’re gonna love this.’
