First Look at Promotional Art for Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom in AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY, on display at Disney’s 2026 Merchandise Expo in China.
Promotional images and video are making the rounds online.

Disney has apparently revealed the first official promotional imagery of Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday at the Walt Disney Marketing Expo in Shanghai.
Multiple images circulating on social media show artwork decorating the entrance to the Expo featuring characters from Disney franchises, including Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story, Judy Hopps from Zootopia, Mickey Mouse, Spider-Man, the Mandalorian and Grogu, and Doctor Doom.
There’s also video footage from within the Expo showing laser projections of Doctor Doom on his throne, flying and displaying his powers while music from the Avengers movies plays. The projections then reveal logos for the Avengers, Black Panther, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men.
The MCU’s Doctor Doom was teased during the post-credits scene of The Fantastic Four: First Steps where the supervillain, seen only from behind, approaches Franklin Richards. Vanessa Kirby confirmed that it really was Downey in that scene, which was directed by the Russo Brothers while filming Avengers: Doomsday.
These images from the Marketing Expo come on the heels of the Russos posting a blurry image from the set of Avengers: Doomsday and fans speculating that a very jacked-looking Chris Evans will return as Captain America, which has people worried that Avengers: Endgame’s happy ending will be undone.
While plot details on Avengers: Doomsday remain sparse, we do know that Gambit gets to fight Doctor Doom (thanks for letting that slip, Channing Tatum!) and that some actors, such as Alan Cumming, are filming their scenes in isolation against a green screen and don’t even know who they’re supposed to be acting with.
Avengers: Doomsday opens in theaters on December 18, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars opening a year later on December 17, 2027.
