People are calling for Sydney Sweeney to be given the Super Bowl half time show, claiming that it would ‘annoy the libs’ and ‘they wouldn’t be able to handle it’…
Sydney Sweeney’s ad controversy is followed by an alleged statement from the actress about going naked for an NFL team.

Sydney Sweeney has been dragged into the spotlight for all the wrong reasons these days, and the latest rumor surrounding the Buffalo Bills is no different. It was reported that Sweeney said she would bare it all if the Buffalo Bills were to win the Super Bowl this season. A Facebook page attributed to a Buffalo Bills fan page, called @Mafia Bills/FB, first shared this alleged statement from Sweeney:
Let’s be honest, a Super Bowl win would be the ultimate reason to celebrate. If they win, you’ll definitely see me naked in full Bills glory-because this is my team, and I’ll do whatever it takes to show my love.
On August 6, the report appeared on another Buffalo Bills Fans Club Facebook page. Interestingly, the claim appears to be very fake. Sweeney has never given such a statement to any news media outlet or reporters, or even social media platforms. It appears that the page was trying to use Sweeney’s name for some social media chatter.
Interestingly, the claim also appeared on the fan page of other teams like the Chicago Bears and the Cleveland Browns (reported via The Hindustan Times). However, the Euphoria actress hasn’t endorsed any of these NFL teams and clearly hasn’t given a statement in this regard.
While we don’t know where Sweeney’s loyalty lies when it comes to the NFL, she has appeared in a Super Bowl ad earlier this year.
Before American Eagle, Sydney Sweeney’s Super Bowl Ad Went Viral This Year

On July 23rd, American Eagle launched a new campaign starring Sydney Sweeney. It was the brand’s most expensive campaign yet, and Sweeney came on board as an ambassador. The young actress posed for a few shots, highlighting the new line of denim. The ad went viral, even rising up the stock prices for the company, before it began drawing criticism (reported via THR).
Some fans took offense to the campaign titled “Sydney Has Great Jeans”. The controversy centered around Sweeney’s statement in the ad, “Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality and even eye color. My jeans are blue.” She was accused of promoting eugenics, and the debate got heated on social media.
Before this controversy, Sweeney had starred in a Super Bowl commercial earlier this year, which caught many eyes. The TV spot during the Kansas City Chiefs vs the Philadelphia Eagles match was inspired by the 1989 film, When Harry Met Sally…, and brought back Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal.
The ad titled, When Sally Met Hellmann’s, was the commercial for Hellmann’s brand of mayonnaise. The iconic duo from the movie recreated their famous Katz’s Deli scene. After putting some mayo on her meal, Ryan recreated the fake orgasm scene. It was followed by a cut to the customer at the next table, who turned out to be Sweeney.
Sweeney, just like a fellow diner in the original movie, told the waiter, “I’ll have what she’s having.” In the film, the line was delivered by director Rob Reiner’s mom.
What Sydney Sweeney Has Said About the ‘Great Jeans’ Controversy?

After the backlash to the ‘Great Jeans’ pun, Sydney Sweeney largely remained silent on the issue. No one imagined that Sweeney’s ad could kickstart a culture debate on social media, with even the President of the United States chiming in. She was accused of promoting a form of Nazi propaganda with the ad.
She had her fair share of supporters on social media, who slammed the other fans for reading into the ad too much. Donald Trump took to Truth Social to support her after The Guardian reported that Sweeney was registered as a Republican in Florida. He shared on his account (via BBC):
Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the ‘HOTTEST’ ad out there. It’s for American Eagle, and the jeans are ‘flying off the shelves.’ Go get ‘em Sydney! The tide has seriously turned — Being WOKE is for losers, being Republican is what you want to be.
American Eagle issued a statement regarding the controversy, pushing back on the claims of promoting Nazi propaganda. The company shared on their Instagram, “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans is and always was about the jeans” (via THR).
However, she doesn’t seem to be bothered much by the backlash. She was seen flaunting a blue denim during a night party with some friends. She took to her Instagram to share photos from the night, where she definitely had a great time. She captioned the Instagram photos, “Duval diaries.”
Her new movie, Americana, is definitely taking a hit in theaters, despite great reviews from critics. The film only grossed approximately $500,000 during the weekend (reported via THR). However, its performance cannot be directly tied to the controversy against her.
