Prior to her reported ‘heroin overdose’, Demi revealed her affinity for late star Amy, who died in 2011

In her 2017 documentary Simply Complicated, Demi, 25, revealed a collage of snaps of slender singers, which Demi described as: “what I need to look like to be a star”.

“I’ve got Amy Winehouse in there that I looked up to and wanted to be so badly. I wanted to be as thin as her, I wanted to sing like her, I wanted to be just like her.”

Back in 2009, super fan Demi even posed with a waxwork of idol Amy during a promotional trip to London.

And in 2011, Demi tweeted her sadness over the tragic death of the iconic singer.

She wrote: “Amy Winehouse.. So sad. Unfortunately the world lost an incredibly talented woman to such a powerful disease… addiction. #RIP.”

Demi is now said to be stable and awake after she was reportedly rushed to hospital by paramedics who found her unconscious at her Hollywood Hills home at noon on Tuesday.

According to TMZ, Demi had been treated with Narcan, an emergency treatment for narcotic overdoses.

A source has since told People magazine that Demi is “stable”.

Meanwhile, the singer’s representative told NBC: “Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support.

 

 

“Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”

It was originally reported that Demi had suffered a suspected heroin overdose, but sources “extremely close” to the star have since told The Blast that they’re adamant she was not using the drug.

The website also said that Demi’s aunt had revealed she was “awake and responsive”.
