Beyoncé Gallops Back Into The Top 10
Beyoncé scored another career-defining hit album earlier this year when she released Cowboy Carter. The singer’s first country project was a huge commercial win when it arrived, and in the months since then, it’s slowly declined on the Billboard charts. Now, the superstar shoots back up the rankings thanks to a special re-release of the bestseller.
In the past tracking period, Billboard reports that Cowboy Carter moved 39,000 equivalent units. That sum includes all forms of consumption, though sales are largely responsible for the title’s resurgence.
The deluxe edition of Cowboy Carter was recently released on vinyl for the first time, and members of the BeyHive—Beyoncé’s fan club—bought the title in huge sums. The set sold 24,000 copies throughout the past seven-day tracking week. All but 1,000 of those were on vinyl.
Cowboy Carter is soaring on a number of charts this week thanks to that uptick in purchases. It returns to the No. 1 spot on the Vinyl Albums list as it simultaneously climbs the Billboard 200.
