Coldplay’s Chris Martin joked that the audience might be caught on Kiss Cam, amid the scandal of cheating at the concert that has been making headlines in recent days.
According to Us Weekly, in the context of the cheating scandal of two leaders of the Astronomer company at the Music of the Spheres concert that is spreading across social networks, Chris Martin had a notable reaction at the next show in Wisconsin, on July 19. On X, an audience member recorded the artist reminding fans that the Kiss Cam (kissing camera) was about to start, some people might appear on the big screen.
“We want to say hello to some of the audience here. What we do is we use the camera, project some people on the big screen. Please, if you haven’t finished your makeup yet, please do it now,” Chris Marin said while playing the guitar. Most of the people at the concert laughed at his “warning”. Several accounts reshared the video, some people thought this was the artist’s way of referring to the Kiss Cam “exposing” affair.

Currently, the scandal between CEO Andy Byron and HR director Kristin Cabot is a hot topic worldwide. It all started during the group’s performance in Massachusetts on the evening of July 16. Normally, Kiss Cam randomly films couples together in real time. The two chosen people can kiss. When the camera accidentally showed Mr. Byron hugging Ms. Cabot, both quickly hid their faces and tried to escape the lens.
At that time, people did not know the relationship between the two. Chris Martin joked: “Either they are having an affair, or they are just shy.” After that, he expressed guilt, saying he hoped he had done nothing wrong. The singer tried to calm the situation by asking the next couple if they were “a legal couple”.
A viewer filmed the entire incident and posted it on TikTok about a day later. The video went viral after some people revealed Byron and Cabot’s identities, confirming that they were “having an affair.” Some of the comments read: “The chances of a marriage and career falling apart at a Coldplay concert are low but not zero,” “Thank you to the cameraman for capturing them.”

Shortly after that, many news sites found out about the marital status of both, saying that Mr. Andy Byron, 50, has a wife and two children, while Ms. Cabot divorced in 2022. On July 18, a representative of the Astronomer company announced that they would investigate this relationship and temporarily fired both of them. On July 19, the company announced that CEO Andy Byron had resigned, and it is unclear whether Ms. Kristin Cabot will continue to hold the position.
“Astronomer is committed to maintaining the values and culture that have guided the company since its founding. The company’s leaders are expected to set standards of conduct and responsibility. Recently, that standard has not been met,” a company spokesperson told Us Weekly.

Kiss Cams are a popular activity at sports events in the United States and Canada. According to NPR, the history of the game is unclear, but it seems to have started appearing in stadiums in California in the 1980s. Many people find Kiss Cams interesting because they can witness many romantic scenes, such as former US President Jimmy Carter kissing his wife at an Atlanta Braves game in 2015.
