Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have revealed they have welcomed their fourth baby, a little boy, via surrogate.

The birth of their baby boy, Wren Alexander Stephens, comes after Chrissy gave birth to their third baby, daughter Esti, in January this year.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Chrissy explained that as long as she can remember, she’s always wanted four children. But she says after losing their son Jack to pregnancy complications in 2020, she didn’t think she would be able to carry any more babies.

“I’ve personally blocked out a lot of my mindset during that time, but one clear memory is being surrounded by people who wanted to make sure I wouldn’t go through that pain and loss again,” Chrissy explained.

The 37-year-old says in 2021 she and John reached out to a surrogacy agency, and they decided to try one more time for Chrissy to carry a baby. Through the IVF process, they made new embryos, and became pregnant with Esti.

“Around this same time, we also met the most incredible, loving, compassionate surrogate we could ever imagine, Alexandra. I knew she was a perfect match for us the moment we spoke to her. All our wishes and dreams aligned.”

Chrissy explained how they became firm friends, and were heartbroken when the first embryo didn’t survive.

“Not wanting to rush the process, we took a breath and … were just patient. I laid around, enjoying the first trimester of my pregnancy, with of course a little bit of fear that isn’t any different from any other expecting couple,” Chrissy wrote.

As Chrissy’s pregnancy progressed, their surrogate, Alexandra also became pregnant with the couple’s little boy. And he arrived on June 19, his name a nod to their precious surrogate.

“Our hearts, our home, are officially full. And to our Jack, we know both their angel kisses are from you.”

Chrissy also shared some gorgeous photos of their baby son.

It comes just a few months after John, 44, revealed to an audience at a private concert on January 13th this year that their baby girl had arrived.

Chrissy then shared images of their daughter.

“She’s here!” Chrissy captioned the image of her three children. “Esti Maxine Stephens – the house is bustling and our family could not be happier. Daddy sheds nightly tears of joy seeing Luna and Miles so full of love, and I am learning you still need diapers with a c section!? We are in bliss. Thank you for all the love and well wishes – we feel it all!”

Last week John explained to concert-goers that he didn’t get much sleep but felt ‘energise’ after being at the hospital with his wife. Those who attended the concert confirmed the news.

It’s beautiful news, after the couple suffered the heartbreak of losing their son Jack in 2020. They have been open about their IVF journey since losing their son.

Chrissy shared a beautiful bump pic on Instagram in August last year, saying, “The last few years have been a blur of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again. 1 billion shots later (in the leg lately, as u can see!) we have another on the way.

“Every appointment I’ve said to myself, “ok if it’s healthy today I’ll announce” but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still. I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing. Ok phew it’s been very hard keeping this in for so long!”

In September 2020 the couple, who have a six-year-old daughter Luna and four-year-old son Miles, shared the unimaginable tragedy of losing their son Jack after pregnancy complications.

Chrissy had a partial placenta abruption and after uncontrolled bleeding and a month of bed rest, she delivered baby Jack at just 20 weeks.

In February 2021 Chrissy had shut down pregnancy rumours, but revealed she had restarted IVF.

“I wanted to let you guys know I’m balls deep in another IVF cycle to save as many eggos as I possibly can and hopefully make some strong, healthy embryos,” she wrote in an Instagram caption.

We’re so happy for this beautiful couple!
