On Tuesday night, Caitlin Clark “liked” Taylor Swift’s Instagram post endorsing Kamala Harris for president. She was asked about it on Wednesday and handled the question tactfully.
A reporter asked Clark what Swift’s Instagram post meant to her and whether she would support Harris for president.
“I think for myself, I have this great platform, so I think the most important thing would be to encourage people to register to vote,” Clark said. “I think for myself, this is the second time I can vote in an election at 22; I can vote when I’m 18. So I think, let’s do it. It’s the most important thing I can do with the platform that I have. It’s the same thing that Taylor did,” she added. “I think you should continue to learn about the current candidates, the policies that they’re advocating for. I think that’s the biggest thing you can do and that’s what I would recommend to everyone who has that opportunity in our country.”
Unlike Swift, Clark has not officially endorsed any candidate but has used his platform to encourage people to participate in the political process.
Clark and the Indiana Fever will return to the court on Wednesday night to host the Las Vegas Aces at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
