Blake Shelton opened up about his relationship with Gwen Stefani in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight.

During the chat, the 48-year-old hitmaker opened up about prioritizing his marriage to Gwen Stefani over other professional commitments.

The actor and his now-wife got married after previously meeting while working on the hit singing competition series The Voice.

Shelton began the interview by saying that he has put his family life above his other professional endeavors.

He said: ‘I love all the fun things I get to do… but all of that has now become secondary to Gwen and the kids and it’s just a new phase in my life.’

The musician also commented that he is at a point in his life where he has the freedom to record when he wants.

“I’m happy to release songs when I feel like it and luckily the record label allows me to do that,” he said.

Shelton noted that his label is willing to work with him on an irregular schedule.

‘I just said, “Hey, I want to do this. Will you guys help me?” and they would agree and we made some big records that way. Hopefully this will be another one,’ he said.

The performer later said that he would never have expected to end up with Stefani in the early stages of his career.

He has noted that he achieved more success in his career after becoming a regular actor on television.
