Veteran producer Salaam Remi has paired up Amy Winehouse and hip-hip icon Nas once again on his new track ‘Find My Love’.

The song features posthumous vocals from a previous jam session Remi recorded with Winehouse and new contributions from Nas.
The track is the latest single off Remi’s upcoming compilation Do It For The Culture 2. Remi previously served as a producer on Nas’ 2012 LP Life Is Good, which also featured archival vocals from Winehouse on the track ‘Cherry Wine’. He was also a frequent collaborator with Winehouse and worked as a co-producer on the British soul singer’s breakout debut Back To Black alongside Mark Ronson, as well as her 2003 debut, Frank.
Speaking on the new track, Remi shared a statement about the “virtual” collaboration: “Working with friends is the best part of being a creator. With Nas and Amy being two if my closest creative partners over the years, this organically feels like the first song from my Do It for the Culture 2 collection of songs”.
While they come from very different music scenes, Nas and Winehouse were longtime friends. In an interview from 2012, Nas spoke about their relationship: “She was so full of life, she was just a pure artist. She didn’t care about all the fame and the money and all of that stuff, she did what she wanted to do in her way.”
The trailblazing soul singer passed away in 2011 at the age of 27. Last November, Eagle Rock released a documentary about the making of her career-making album Back To Black. Following its release, the Winehouse estate also announced a number of plans involving a planned biopic that will begin shooting this year as well as hologram tour planned for 2019.
Meantime Nas continues to tour in support of his recent album, Nasir, which was released last summer.
