Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill recently announced his and his partner Natalie Viscuso’s pregnancy. The couple had earlier triggered the pregnancy rumors when Viscuso, the former VP of Legendary Entertainment, was seen showing off her baby bump. Interestingly, Cavill had always dreamed of becoming a good father and shared several of his fatherhood goals. Cavill and Viscuso made their relationship official in 2021.

The Argylle actor shared the happy news at the premiere of his upcoming film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. The spy action comedy also stars Eiza González, Alan Ritchson, Henry Golding, and others.

Henry Cavill Shared His Fatherhood Goals Years Before He Became An Expectant Dad

Henry Cavill confirmed that he’s expecting a child with his partner Natalie Viscuso. During the premiere of The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, he shared with Access Hollywood that Viscuso and he are both excited to be new parents. He shared, “But, I’m very excited about it. Natalie and I are both very excited. I’m sure you’ll see much more of that.”

Cavill appears to be better prepared to take on the new role in his life. He shared with Men’s Health UK Magazine in 2017 that he wanted to be a dad who could run around his kids all the time. He wanted to be a fit and healthy dad who didn’t need to “catch a breather” in looking after his kids. The Enola Holmes actor shared with Men’s Health UK (via The Independent):

“If I ever have kids one day, I want to be the dad who’s running round after them. And if I do have kids, even now, it’s starting to get quite late. But I want to be a fit and healthy dad, not hobbling round like, ‘OK, I’m just going to catch a breather.’”

After the pregnancy news broke out, Cavill revealed to E! News about his romantic date nights with Viscuso and how their parenthood would change things around a bit during these date nights. He shared that they could always have a “kitchen dance party” but they would have to avoid the wine for a few dates. Cavill and Viscuso made their red carpet debut at the premiere of Enola Holmes 2 in 2022.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is due for release this weekend and critics have already given fairly positive reviews for the film. The film is a heavily fictionalized version of Operation Postmaster. Guy Ritchie adapted Damien Lewis’ 2014 book, Churchill’s Secret Warriors: The Explosive True Story of the Special Forces Desperadoes of WWII.

FandomWire called the film “an impossibly glib, rip-roaring, and exciting action picture.” The review also added that one of the positive aspects of the film was “a cast with this much swashbuckling beefcake, including a Superman, a Reacher, and a G.I. Joe.” The film has a 75% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, with several reviewers giving the film a fresh rating.
