While the holiday season is full of big family dinners, those spontaneous gatherings with a few loved ones are just as important. Luckily, chef and cookbook author Chrissy Teigen is here to make hosting the small holiday get-togethers easier by teaming up with Boursin Cheese as this year’s Host in Residence. This collaboration is inspired by the theme “no occasion required” and features a giveaway tote with two of her original recipes, a limited-edition Boursin Cheese flavor and more. Chrissy also gave us the scoop on how this spreadable cheese allows for effortless entertaining. Keep reading for our exclusive interview with her about bringing this bold and flavorful collaboration to life!
Chrissy’s stress-free plan for entertaining
As a host, Chrissy understands that preparing dishes, making sure everyone is satisfied and allowing yourself to enjoy the occasion is a delicate dance. So, she prefers finding ways to impress guests without a ton of work. “I want things that are easy and bold and simple and that I can put out that are going to really impress people and they’re going to love it,” she says. “But the name of the game for me with entertaining is casual. The more casual, the better. People are all on the couch eating, watching sports, and some are sitting on the rug with their feet up on the coffee table. It’s just really nice to be able to grow into being comfortable with things being more simple.”
How Chrissy uses Boursin cheese to entertain with ease
Chrissy believes that flavorful ingredients that can be eaten hot or cold are perfect for serving to guests. That’s where a product like Boursin comes in as she describes its unique texture creates endless opportunities for deliciousness. “Boursin Cheese has been a favorite of mine in our house for so, so long,” she says. “I was using the product, I was Instagramming recipes using the product. It’s such a beautifully crumbly, soft, smooth cheese that just goes with so many different things.”
One way Chrissy loves to use this cheese is in a charcuterie board, especially during Thanksgiving where she preps a large spread for guests to nosh on. “I’ll do a four-foot charcuterie board on my big table and people graze at it all day,” she adds. What to expect from Chrissy’s Host in Residence collaboration

With Chrissy being the Maison Boursin Host in Residence this holiday season, her goal is ensuring that even small last-minute gatherings with loved ones go smoothly. So, she’s worked with the brand to curate a selection of the following entertaining essentials packaged in a custom French-inspired market tote.
“My friends are all in the beauty industry or something, and they work with makeup brands and stuff like this, but to me it’s brands like this that are iconic and so fun,” Chrissy says. “So, it’s cool to be a small part of something that’s so much bigger.”
