Twisted Sister confirm reunion plans for 50th anniversary
Metal band Twisted Sister have confirmed plans for their reunion tour in 2026, a decade after they retired from touring.
Rumblings were first spotted on social media after frontman Dee Snider and the band teased a new project for their upcoming 50th anniversary. The band then went on to officially announce that they are reuniting for an epic world tour.

Snider addressed the news in an excited statement: “If you’re lucky enough to be in a band that people still want to see after fifty years(!), how can you not answer the call? In 2026, Twisted Fucking Sister will hit stages around the world because WE STILL WANNA ROCK!!”
The band also noted that their line-up will be changing slightly. Longtime bassist Mark Mendoza won’t be joining them for the upcoming shows; instead, Russell Pzütto, who has played with the band in the past, will be joining them for the new shows.
The wider line-up will consist of founding guitarist and longest-serving member Jay Jay French, as well as lead guitarist Eddie Ojeda and drummer Joe Franco.
French commented on Mendoza’s absence via Rolling Stone, stating, “Me, Dee and Eddie have performed as Twisted Sister for nearly 50 years with 10 different bass players and drummers. The band has never discussed internal realignment before and has no intention of doing it now. Suffice to say that almost all bands with a 50 year history have gone through realignment as a byproduct of time. We wish Mark well in his future endeavours.”
The band have only played a single live show since 2016. They temporarily reunited for their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2023. At the event, they played three hits, ‘Under the Blade’, ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’, and ‘You Can’t Stop Rock ‘n’ Roll’
