In memory of the death anniversary of Freddie Mercury, leader of the band Queen, the program “World of Music” broadcast at 9:10 a.m. on November 12 on HTV9, will bring to the audience the group’s immortal songs that have made waves of all time.

Bohemian Rhapsody is a song from Queen’s fourth studio album, “A Night at the Opera”, released on 31 October 1975. The song was written by Queen lead singer Freddie Mercury, and produced by all members of the band with Roy Thomas Baker.
Upon its release, Bohemian Rhapsody received positive reviews from music critics, who praised its musical creativity and technical excellence. Somebody to Love is a song written by Freddie Mercury and released in 1976 on the album “A Day at the Races”.
Like Bohemian Rhapsody, the song features layers of sound and vocals, based on gospel choirs. It is a rock ballad in which members Freddie Mercury, Brian May and Roger Taylor harmonise to create the impression of a 100-voice choir. Still in the Queen guitar style, the song is also quite complexly arranged and features a solo by guitarist Brian May. The song reached number 2 in the UK charts and number 11 in the US.
At the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992, the song was sung by George Michael and re-released in 1993 on an EP, titled Five Live, and reached number 1 in the UK.
We Will Rock You
We Will Rock You is the name of a song written by Brian May. A version of it was used as the first track on the 1977 album “News of The World”. This version features a stomping and clapping rhythm to the chorus that is characteristic of the song. When performed live, the song is often performed after We Are The Champions, another popular track from the album. It is also widely used at sporting events.

We are the champions, written by Freddie Mercury, is one of the best and most popular songs of the band Queen, and has become an anthem for sports victories.
The song is based mainly on Mercury’s piano, with Taylor and Deacon adding drums and bass guitar. Taylor also takes the top part of the melody in performances. Brian May adds some guitar at the beginning and plays a solo in the chords at the end of the song.
We are the champions is on the album “News of the World” made in 1977 and is followed by We will rock you. Both songs are often performed as the last song in Queen’s concerts.
Don’t stop me now
Don’t stop me now was written by Freddie Mercury and was included in Queen’s Jazz album in 1978. The song was composed based on Mercury’s piano playing. Deacon and Taylor added bass guitar and drums for the background, while May played the guitar solo.

The lyrics are a big picture depicting a feeling of power and exhilaration. The song reached number 9 in the UK charts but only number 86 in the US. In 2004, the song was featured in the movie Shaun of the Dead. In 2006, the song was performed in the American animated film American Dad.
