Hollywood star reveals she lied about her height to land a role when she first started out.

On the Radio Times podcast, Nicole Kidman opened up about herself and her early career in Hollywood. The 56-year-old actress surprised viewers when she admitted she lied about her height when auditioning.

“I was told I wouldn’t have a career (in acting) because I was too tall,” the Aquaman star shared. “I was constantly made fun of and asked what it was like up there. I was always told I was taller than they thought or men struggled with how high my heels should be.”

When she was a teenager just starting out, Nicole Kidman was already over 1m7 tall and this made her worried that she wouldn’t be able to get roles in film projects.

“My height often makes me uncomfortable when acting when I want to be small. However, there are also moments when I appreciate my height and can use it for work,” the star continued, “I’m still grateful to be healthy and able to go everywhere. But like I said, I have problems with my knees and other things, partly because of my height.”
