‘He thinks more about Barca than us’: Bilbao fans upset with Nico Williams dedicating his first goal of the season to Balde
Over the summer, there was quite a saga about Nico Williams potentially signing for Barcelona, but in the end, he stayed at Bilbao while the Catalans went for Dani Olmo instead.
Despite that, Nico-to-Barcelona links haven’t completely disappeared.
Recently, the Bilbao winger sparked more talk by dedicating his first goal of the season to a Barca player – Alejandro Balde.
“To my brother Balde,” he posted on Instagram after the Las Palmas game.
This has not gone down well with some Bilbao fans, who feel he’s “thinking more on Barca than Bilbao” and think it’s “simply unacceptable”.
In reality, the Basque fans are just overreacting.
Nico and Balde go way back from their days with the Spanish national team and still keep in touch and support each other.
