The legendary UB40, led by the iconic voice of Ali Campbell, are bringing their infectious energy back to the stages of Brazil. With over 70 million records sold and an impressive list of UK chart hits, the band continue to promote reggae in all its forms.
Ali Campbell and the authenticity of reggae:
Ali Campbell, singer and guitarist, leads the latest line-up of the extraordinary band UB40. With a legacy stretching back 45 years to their formative years in inner-city Birmingham, Ali’s tour is the truest realization of UB40’s original vision.
Ali says: “I believe I have the best reggae band in the world and you can quote me on that. All the musicians are experienced, they have dedicated their lives to professional bands and I believe in them. Whether in the UK, Africa or an island like Fiji, people are excited when we play. The last few years have been challenging for many, with a lot of darkness in the world. I lost dear friends very early. But life goes on and our band spreads good vibes wherever they go.”
Repertoire and news:
Ali’s performances include reggae classics such as “Cherry Oh Baby”, “Please Don’t Make Me Cry”, “Kingston Town” and “Red Red Wine”, all from the hit series “Labour Of Love”. In addition, the 2021 album of the same name features newer originals such as “Never Had”.
