On September 1, the account “The Daily Scope” posted an article on Facebook with the content: “BREAKING NEWS! Elon Musk has just signed a $13.5 million contract with Netflix for a 7-episode TV series, but it is not about rockets or cars.

The program reveals untold chapters in Elon Musk’s tumultuous journey, from disastrous failures to resounding victories, revealing the billionaire’s inner struggles…”.

The article also mentioned that Mr. Musk pledged to fund STEM education and innovation programs for young people.

The comment section of the post included a link to an online article titled “Elon Musk signs $13.5 million contract with Netflix – shocking fans with commitment to fund innovation for young people”.

After verification, experts at Lead Stories confirmed on September 3 that this information is not true. There is no evidence that billionaire Musk had such an agreement with Netflix.

Lead Stories ran the entire article by “The Daily Scope” on the AI recognition tool JustDone AI, with the conclusion that this content is 88% the product of artificial intelligence (AI).

A search for the keyword “Musk Netflix” on Google News also showed no news related to the signing between Mr. Musk and Netflix.

The only source reporting on the cooperation between billionaire Musk and Netflix came from the page “The Daily Scope” – a website that posts hundreds of fake stories with similar content every day.

“The Daily Scope” also posted an article about TV host Stephen Colbert and country singer George Strait signing a $13.5 million contract to make a 7-episode series with Netflix.

According to Lead Stories’ research, the page “The Daily Scope” was just created on July 21, 2025 on Facebook and is managed by a group of Vietnamese people.

Lead Stories has noticed a growing number of Facebook pages using AI to produce bogus stories aimed at American audiences.
