Henry Cavill has found a new home just 1 day after announcing that he will not return to the role of Superman in the DC cinematic universe.

The past month has not been an easy time for Henry Cavill. First, the actor suddenly announced that he would withdraw from Netflix’s The Witcher project after 3 seasons, leaving the main role of Geralt of Rivia to Liam Hemsworth. And just 2 days ago, Henry suddenly revealed that he would not return to play Superman in the DC cinematic universe because director James Gunn wanted a younger face to take on the role.

However, while many fans are worried about the actor falling into a “unemployment” situation, Henry Cavill recently excitedly announced his new destination: the Warhammer 40,000 series, adapted from the tabletop game of the same name by Games Workshop, and will be developed by Amazon Studios.

On his personal social media pages, Henry said: “For the past 30 years, I have always dreamed of the day when the Warhammer universe would step onto the big screen. Now, after 22 years of working in this field, I finally feel that I have the skills and experience to realize the Warhammer cinematic universe”.

“Working with Natalie Viscuso at Vertigo is an honor beyond words. Without her, we probably would not have found the most suitable landing place at Amazon. And with a home like Amazon, we will be free to explore the super vast scale of Warhammer”.

“To all Warhammer fans, I promise to respect the brand that we all love. I promise to bring you what is most familiar. And I will try to create something amazing like never before. The first step we need to do is find the right production/creative/writing team. Please look forward to it, my friends.”

It is known that Henry Cavill and girlfriend Natalie Viscuso have been developing the Warhammer 40,000 film project for many months, before Amazon reached a copyright agreement with Games Workshop and brought this franchise to their studio. Henry himself is also a die-hard Warhammer fan when he meticulously colored the game’s models during the social distancing period in mid-2020.

On her personal Instagram, Natalie said: “Fantasy, horror and science fiction are my forte creative languages. So when Henry introduced Warhammer to me a few years ago, I really felt very familiar. Warhammer’s stories are rich and complex, the world’s scale allows for the imagination of the player, and the characters, no matter how heroic or pitiful, never leave you. It’s been a joy and an honor to build a cinematic universe with Henry, our team at Amazon, and the Games Workshop empire behind it.”

Although Warhammer 40,000 is still in the process of searching for a writer and director, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Henry Cavill himself will act as executive producer for the project. Joining him are Roy Lee and Natalie Viscuso from Vertigo Entertainment. In addition, it seems that Henry also has high expectations for Warhammer 40,000, as he believes that this could be the beginning of a new cinematic universe in the near future.
