Barcelona pushing to sign Lille striker Jonathan David for free in 2025 — Cules will love what he said about Barca

According to multiple credible sources, including Relevo’s Matteo Moretto, Barcelona are pushing to sign Lille striker Jonathan David in 2025.

Barca intends to sign the Canadian striker for free when his contract at Lille expires next June.

Cules will love what David said when he was asked which top club he supported growing up.

“Barcelona has always been my favourite club since I was a kid,” David said in that interview back in March 2023.

So David is already a Cule.

And just this past week, David scored a penalty to help his team beat Real Madrid in the Champions League 1-0. It was Madrid’s first defeat in the competition since May 2023.

David has scored eight goals in 12 games this season plus two assists.

Last season, the 24-year-old goalscorer plundered 26 goals and nine assists in 47 games for Lille.

He could be a perfect replacement for an ageing Robert Lewandowski who is already 36 years old.
