Chrissy Teigen shared an update on 6-year-old son Miles’ Type 1 diabetes diagnosis.
On Wednesday, the model revealed that she and her husband John Legend, 45, were ‘still learning’ about her son’s illness.
The mother-of-four, 38 — who recently revealed she was starting a podcast — took to Instagram to share a carousel of snaps of her children enjoying time together as a family.
She initially captioned the post explaining that her children keep the home ‘alive’, claiming it is ‘perfect’ that her kids are ‘becoming funny little humans.
Underneath the post, a mother who also has a child battling Type 1 diabetes wrote: ‘As a mom with such a large following, would you consider sharing more about Type 1? At least a bit to raise awareness? Sincerely, a fellow T1 mom.’
In response Teigen said: ‘I definitely plan to! We are still learning over here ourselves!’

The brunette beauty announced that her son has Type 1 diabetes in late July after posting a photo of the youngster with insulin monitor on his arm.
A week later, the All of Me hitmaker recalled the moment he and his wife of twelve years learned of their six-year-old’s diagnosis in an emotional interview with PEOPLE.
He claimed Miles had fallen ill while at summer camp, which led to what the couple thought would be a simple trip to the emergency room.
‘I remember he was at the emergency room because of it and they checked his blood sugar,’ the singer explained. ‘The thinking was, this may be a reaction to the infection or he may be diabetic.’
He continued: ‘They did some more tests and decided it was the latter; that he was type 1 diabetic. Chrissy was upset a little bit when she first heard. She’s been so good at learning what she needs to do.’
And Legend assured the outlet that he was ‘very optimistic’ and ‘practical’ about the situation.
‘As soon as I learned that he had this I knew it was going to be life-changing for him and for us, but I’m also like, “We can do this,”‘ he explained.
‘We’ve got great advice and lots of people offering support to help us learn,’ the Beauty and the Beast singer added.
‘This speaks to us feeling like a team and knowing we can do this. It just makes us stronger,’ The singer said of he and his wife.
The EGOT winner also explained that Miles is in the ‘early’ stages of his diagnosis and that he and his model wife ‘have to be more aware.’
He shared: ‘[Miles is] early in his diagnosis, and when you’re early, your insulin is still doing some of the work that it needs to do. But as the disease progresses, it’s going to get to a point where we really need to monitor everything, count carbs, give him insulin beforehand. We just have to be more aware.’

According to the Mayo Clinic, type 1 diabetes is a condition where ‘the pancreas makes little or no insulin.
‘Insulin is a hormone the body uses to allow sugar (glucose) to enter cells to produce energy.’
The clinic also says that the disease can be attributed to genetics and certain viruses. It typically appears during adolescence but can be diagnosed during adulthood as well.
Those managing it must regulate the amount of sugar in their blood by using insulin and dieting. Type 1 diabetes has no cure.
