Jon Bon Jovi shares his decision to marry his high school sweetheart, his wife.
On their 35th wedding anniversary, Jon Bon Jovi shared the story of his whirlwind marriage to Dorothea Bongiovi, his high school sweetheart.
“We were in Los Angeles and I had the idea to go to Las Vegas right away. My girlfriend agreed, so we flew there. The taxi driver was the witness to our hasty wedding,” Bon Jovi recalled.
Bon Jovi’s Impromptu 35-Year Marriage
The bold decision surprised many, from family and friends to Bon Jovi’s management and crew. However, Bon Jovi insists it was the right thing to do: “We did the right thing.”

Despite the gossip, Bon Jovi and Dorothea have proven to everyone that their love is strong. Together they raised four children and founded the JBJ Soul Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides housing and meals to the needy.
Dorothea has always been a strong supporter of Bon Jovi, especially during the period when he had problems with his vocal cords that almost ruined his career. “Joy is something you have to create for yourself. And now, I’ve found it,” Bon Jovi shared.
Love and family happiness are the inspiration for Bon Jovi’s latest album, “Forever.” “What really matters in life? It’s love, loyalty, and the things that make you get up every day and be full of energy,” Bon Jovi affirmed.
