Henry Cavill found worldwide fame when he first donned Superman’s suit back in 2013. With Zack Snyder, the actor and the director created and released the iconic film Man of Steel, which kickstarted the DCEU.

Despite the fame that Superman brought to Cavill, the actor stated another project as the one that put him on the map. Well, opinions differ from person to person but Cavill feels that it wasn’t the role of Superman that got him on the map of Hollywood.

Although the actor had some credible roles to his name before 2013, the role of Superman was a daunting task for Henry Cavill. Taking care of fans and the sentiments of the people, the actor had some pretty big shoes to fill.

Despite the controversial ending of Man of Steel, Henry Cavill found worldwide fame for the role of Superman. Although it took some time, fans appreciated the value that Cavill added to the role.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Cavill talked about how he took on the role of Superman. The actor confirmed that he wasn’t hoping for anything grandiose, other than simply enjoying the ride.

I don’t know if you can be ready for that, to be honest. There’s no knowing what it’s going to feel like and how it’s going to affect my life.

He further continued,

I think what I’m going to do is just enjoy the journey, ride the wave, and if the punches come, roll with them.

Although the punches did come his way, Cavill rode the wave and found himself on the shore of success. Despite the worldwide fame that the role brought him, the actor had some differing opinions.

In another more recent interview, Henry Cavill was happy about how his career had turned out the way it did. The actor had a plethora of offers to his name and he gave the credit to a role that was not Man of Steel‘s Superman!

Henry Cavill Name Dropped The Witcher!

Released in 2019, the Netflix series dived into the tale of Geralt of Rivia, Yennefer of Vengeberg, and their daughter Cirrila, and how fate had connected the three of them. Cavill, naturally, was loved by millions for his role as the Witcher.

Due to creative differences with showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich, Cavill decided to leave the show after 3 seasons, and the world hasn’t been the same ever since.

In another interview with THR, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare actor talked about how he had three offers for him at that moment. Cavill name-dropped his role in The Witcher as his achieving factor.

Something has changed, something has shifted. After 21 years of hard work, I have three jobs lined up. 

He further continued,

Maybe it’s me, maybe it’s my approach, maybe my value as a commodity increases being attached to things like The Witcher. Now I can really focus on the storytelling and grow from here.

Well, to each their own but it is true that Cavill shined in the role of Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher. Portraying the role for 3 seasons, the actor received much love and support for his iconic portrayal.

The Witcher received a rating of 8.0/10 on IMDB and a high of 80% on Rotten Tomatoes until season 3. A fourth season is currently in production. Cavill’s The Witcher is available to stream on Netflix in the U.S.
