“Rap @ss of their f–king”: Cardi B Hits Back at Jermaine Dupri Calling Today’s Female Artists ‘Str!ppers Rapping’ | HO

“I rap about my p—- because she’s my best friend,” says a fired up Cardi B.

Cardi B just came out swinging against Jermaine Dupri’s criticism of today’s female rappers.

The 46-year-old record producer didn’t have anything flattering to say about the current crop of female hip-hop artists during a recent interview, which got Cardi all kinds of fired up.

After speaking about his love for Da Brat and her legacy in the rap game, PEOPLE Now asked who his favorite was right now. “I can’t really say,” he responded, “I feel they’re all rapping about the same thing.”

“I don’t think they’re showing us who’s the best rapper. For me, it’s like strippers rapping and as far as rap goes I’m not getting who is the best rapper,” he continued. “I’m getting like, okay you got a story about you dancing in the club, you got a story about dancing in the club, you got a story about dancing in the club, okay, alright. Who’s gonna be the rapper? At some point, somebody’s gonna have to break out of that mold and show us other things, just rap about other things besides that.”

In a pair of Instagram videos posted Thursday, Cardi hit back hard at Dupri’s criticism, defending rapping about her lady bits and naming a few female rappers who deserve much more attention than they’re currently getting.

“Okay guys I have seen a lot of people that nowadays female rappers only talk about their p—- and shit and now that Jermaine Dupri brought it up, I’m going to say something about it,” she began.

“First of all, I rap about my p—- because she’s my best friend, you know what I’m saying, and second of all it’s because it seems like that’s what people want to hear,” the rapper continued.

She added that when she released “Be Careful,” she heard backlash because it wasn’t what people were expecting. “It’s like if that’s what people ain’t trying to hear then, alright, I’m going to start rapping about my p—- again.”

“There’s a lot of female rappers that be rapping their ass off who don’t talk about their p—- and don’t be talking about getting down and dirty and y’all don’t be supporting them,” Cardi added.

She then called out online websites for their perceived lack of support and added, “don’t blame that shit on on us when y’all not the ones that’s supporting them.”

In a second post, she got specific about the female rappers out there “rapping their f–king asses off” who don’t “get the recognition they deserve.”

After naming Teirra Whack, Kamaiyah, Rhapsody and Oranicuhh she said magazines, websites, radio, DJs and her own fans all need to support them more.

“They don’t rap about their vajayjay, they don’t rap about sucking dick and they dope ass rappers,” she concluded.

While Dupri has yet to respond directly to Cardi, he did retweet someone whose comments echoed what Cardi was saying. “It’s the general listeners fault why these type of female rappers aren’t on the radar of the people like @jermainedupri,” the tweet read. “If more people supported them then we’d know about them.”

Another comment she retweeted read, “I love how the comments @jermainedupri made about female rap is showcasing a lot of talent from female rappers I may not have heard of before #yesqueens”.
