Filming this at a ridiculous pool party, according to a new Instagram post from his daughter Karen, the Hollywood A-lister is recovering from a recent “medical complication.” Jamie Foxx had a lot of fans scared when his health started deteriorating last year. Apparently, Jamie Foxx’s own daughter thinks that the former playboy tried to take her father out of the picture. Considering what we’ve all come to know about Diddy in the past couple of months, it doesn’t sound completely far-fetched. If anyone’s capable of putting someone in the hospital, it’s Diddy. Back in the day, Jamie and Diddy were real tight, but they didn’t always start out that way. Before they became friends, Jamie was trying to get into music and who better to ask for help than the person who owned the hip-hop scene, Shawn “Diddy” Combs? In an interview with Stephen Colbert, Jamie revealed, “I was trying to get into music at that time, so I would throw parties for a reason. And because Diddy was so famous in music, I had a studio in my house.” Fans noticed how Jamie had a sparkle in his eyes while talking about Diddy—it seemed like he was a fanboy. “You know what’s crazy? I used to follow Diddy back in the day when Diddy had all of the songs out. He was so famous we couldn’t get into our own clubs in LA. Like, we’d go in the clubs, and you’ll get—you go with him, no. He would come from New York to LA, and I couldn’t even get in the club ’cause he was so famous.”

And strangely enough, that was exactly the case. Mind you, this was back when Diddy’s parties were all the rage. Everyone and their grandma would try to end up at the record executive’s parties one way or another because that was the place to be back in the day, and Jamie wanted in on the action—not simply for getting help with his music but also for expanding his circle of friends and getting in touch with some powerful folks in the industry. So, what did he do? He followed around the record executive in his car. “One day I flipped it on him. It showed up in a town—it was Town Car days. I had a Town Car, popped out of the Town Car with a camera, said, ‘Yo Puff, yo you gotta let me film this, the whole thing. We need to document this Playboy.’ He was like, ‘Yo, let him through,’ and I’m like, ‘Alright, I’m through.’ And I had the big Canon camera. It wasn’t like this. Yeah, I had the big Canon camera with the light and battery, ‘Do that again, Puff.’ And so I started hanging out with Puff like back in the day.”

And just like that, Jamie had a seat at the table. However, somewhere along the way, he thought it would be a bright idea to let the public in on the action as well. Looks like he missed the briefing where they tell everyone that what happens in the Diddy Club stays in the Diddy Club. He started by revealing the crazy amount of money Diddy used to spend on these parties. Hint: it’s more money than you and I would see in this lifetime. “And he said, ‘Yo Playboy, this party cost a million and a half dollars to throw.’ I’m like, ‘You out of your mind.'”

Jamie also dropped the names of some big names who happened to attend Diddy’s parties—Dr. Ruth, Missy Elliot, Jay-Z, The Neptunes, and Kanye West were on that list. “And I look up and I see Dr. Ruth—I don’t know if you know who that is, the lady. I see Dr. Ruth, I said, ‘Miss Ruth, could you please come over here? This guy by name is Sean P. Diddy Combs. I need you to come meet him. I need this for my camera. Dr. Ruth and Puff at the Beverly Hills Hotel pool.'” And to no one’s surprise, he managed to witness some curious things as well, which stopped him in his tracks. “I flipped the camera this way, there’s the man and some young dude. I don’t know who dude is. So I said, ‘Puff, who that?’ ‘Oh, that’s the young cat Usher.’ I said, ‘Cool.’ So I asked, ‘Is it cool if I—?’ She said, ‘Sure.’ You know, it was probably a wild night too, sure.”

Interestingly, it seems like Jamie was only exposing the tip of the iceberg. In recent times, fans have come to know some shocking truths about Diddy’s infamous parties thanks to music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones. In his explosive lawsuit, Rod described Diddy’s parties as crazy, complete with sex and illegal substances. And get this: to make sure that word of his wild celebrations didn’t get around, Diddy made all partygoers sign agreements that required them to maintain their silence. However, what’s really disturbing is the stuff that Diddy actually got up to at these parties. According to Jones, he would force young people to fulfill his desires, and of course, workers were a given. However, fans are sure that the people who attended these crazy celebrations and enjoyed them to the fullest at the time are shaking in their boots right now.

In case you missed it, Jones rained on everyone’s parade who made the mistake of ever stepping foot inside Diddy’s home. Apparently, Diddy has hidden cameras in every room, which basically means he has the power to end the careers of everyone who attended his parties and got up to some shady stuff. The lawsuit read, “Combs has recordings of several celebrities, artists, music label executives, and athletes engaging in illegal activity. These individuals were recorded without their knowledge and consent.” It also said, “Mr. Combs possesses compromising footage of every person who has attended his freak-off parties and his house parties.” If all of these allegations are believed to be true, it makes sense why Diddy would want to keep tight security around his parties and why he would be pissed about Jamie running his mouth to the media. Maybe that’s why 50 Cent said he wouldn’t be caught dead at a Diddy party. “That’s why I be going to the puffy party, uh, you can—you’re going to be in the back at the same time you’re talking about. Look, if you’re into that, you’re into that. I’m fine with it all. I’m just saying, like, uncomfortable. I think I belong in girls’—like, there.”

But that’s not all. Jamie also made the mistake of spilling the tea about an argument that went down between him, Diddy, and his girlfriend at the time, Jennifer Lopez. “Puffy and Jennifer, she got mad. I saw her at the Grammys, and she was upset with me. Now, you know, I know Jennifer from In Living Color. You know, she was the Fly Girl and everything like that. You know what I’m saying? We go back, you know what I’m saying? I remember before the J-Lo, you know, I remember when it was just, ‘Hey, hey, ho.’ I’m serious, who trying to front on me? I’m like, ‘Hey, hey, ho, hey, ho.’ I remember before the J was he.” She just was real upset with me. Apparently, he joked about JLo not being able to sing, which didn’t land with the intended audience. Though Jamie did make an effort to apologize for his words, there’s a chance that Diddy might have held a grudge since the actor did kind of go after someone he was dating. “But I walked up to behind the stage at the Grammys. I’m saying, ‘Hey J, you know what’s up?’ She hit me with the beat box. ‘Yo J, Jennifer, J-Lo,’ you know. She said, ‘You know what’s wrong? I’m mad at you. I’m so angry at you ’cause you did jokes about me. You said I couldn’t sing.’ And let’s not forget that took some shots at Puffy during the same skit, which probably rubbed the record executive the wrong way. And then that’s when Puffy came in, he was like, ‘Take that, take that.'”

Though it was not as serious as him dropping the deets about his parties, he should have just stayed away from the pair altogether. And who knows? Maybe he would have done exactly that if he’d known about him landing in the hospital and taking a break from acting some years into the future. Before trouble came knocking, Jamie carried on living his life after making these fiery statements without looking over his shoulder. However, in hindsight, he should have been careful all along.

On April 11, 2023, Jamie’s daughter Karen Fox broke some disturbing news to fans everywhere on IG. She wrote, “We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.” While she failed to reveal what exactly went down, the news was confirmed the very next day with a source telling People that Jamie’s ongoing project at the time, “Back in Action,” had been shut down. With the actor gone, the production was forced to use a stand-in to fill his position, which implied that it was serious stuff and that Jamie might not be returning for a long time.
