Eminem and Paul Rosenberg are set to executive produce “Live From Detroit: The Concert at Michigan Central,” a landmark event that celebrates Detroit’s rich musical heritage. This all-star concert will feature an impressive lineup, including legends like Diana Ross, Jack White, Big Sean, and many others, marking the grand reopening of the historic Michigan Central train station. The event, spearheaded by Ford Motor Co., follows nearly $1 billion in renovations of the site and aims to spotlight Detroit’s ongoing revitalization.
The event, which will accommodate 15,000 attendees at Corktown’s Roosevelt Park, is produced by Jesse Collins Entertainment, known for its work on major events like the Super Bowl halftime shows and the Emmy Awards. This concert marks a significant cultural moment for Detroit, showcasing the city’s vibrant music scene and its ongoing renewal.
Eminem’s involvement is particularly noteworthy, as he might perform for the first time in his hometown in nearly a decade, aside from a few onstage cameos. Fans recently heard a soundcheck of his song “Sing For The Moment” at the venue, suggesting he will take the stage. There is also speculation that he might perform his latest single “Houdini.”
Bill Ford, executive chair of Ford, expressed his excitement about the event, stating, “We wanted to celebrate the reopening of Michigan Central Station in style and make it a night to remember for Detroiters and people watching around the world. I am honored and grateful that so many of Detroit’s musical legends, sports heroes, artists, and innovators are joining us to celebrate the city we all love and the bright future we are creating together.”
This concert promises to be a historic celebration of Detroit’s music and cultural heritage, highlighting the city’s resilience and creativity.
