JoJo Siwa on her official TikTok made a comment about topping the list of the most disliked music video by a female artist on Youtube. While doing so, she mentioned singer Taylor Swift in her video
The Dance Moms alum’s music video for her single Karma is YouTube’s Most Disliked Music Video by a Female Artist in 2024. It’s not a record most would think to highlight, but with Jojo’s usual happy-go-lucky personality, she didn’t seemed fazed by the news. She announced this record on her TikTok on July 18 by first outlining the other top songs that have made the list.
In fourth place was Ariana Grande’s Yes, And? with 290,000 dislikes, followed by Katy Perr’s WOMAN’S WORLD in third place with 330,000 dislikes. Taylor Swift rounded out the second spot with Fortnight with 350,000 dislikes. Jojo captioned the TikTok with a trophy and flaming heart emoji: “WHAT A DAY TO CELEBRATE. KARMA BROKE A RECORD. 900% MORE THAN 2ND PLACE. A WIN IS A WIN”

“Your number one first place overall goes to ‘Karma’ by JoJo Siwa with an astonishing, record-breaking 3.1 million dislikes,”JoJo shouted exuberantly.
“You know, I am the only person that can say I beat Taylor Swift on a list of something,” the 21-year-old joked. “I’ll take it.”
Her divisive song first was released on April 5, 2024. It was a signal of JoJo’s edgier transformation since she debuted in the music scene with her first song, I Can Make U Dance in 2015. The new single had lyrics and a sultry music video that were considered daring to some for the former child star.
The singer was entangled among a series of ladies as she almost kisses them and she danced to lyrics that said she “was a bad girl / I did some bad things.” The intimacy showcased in the music video is a reminder that Jojo came out in January 2021 as apart of the LGBTQ+ community. With the new lyrics and vibes, she also donned a new look that’s a departure from her signature colorful outfits and pony tails. She wore a KISS-inspired black sparkly mesh jumpsuit and black eye makeup.

In April 2024, JoJo talked about rebrand in her music and fashion with the song Karma in an interview with Billboard. “I wanted it to be as bold and as ballsy as possible. There is nothing more ballsy than this song,” she said.
She also addressed the rumors that the she stole Karma from artists like Miley Cyrus and Brit Smith on TMZ. She told the outlet, she didn’t “steal anything” and how she was pitched the song. The song was originally written Rock Mafia and Desmond Child. In an interview with Page Six on April 12, Brit Smith also cleared things up and confirmed that JoJo did steal anything. She shared that recorded the track and made a music video in 2012 which was supposed to be her debut single but was scrapped. She added that Rock Mafia said this was written in Miley Cyrus in mind and she passed on the song.
